This is a really simple guide to planting a succulent within a terrarium. It’s super easy and if you don’t have a terrarium, simply use an alternative such as a round terracotta plant pot or a fish bowl.
What you’ll need:
- Terrarium or alternative
- Fish tank gravel
- Cactus soil – don’t use ordinary compost as succulents are not designed to grow under the same conditions.
- Lay a small amount of pebbles over the base of the terrarium – this allows for drainage.
- Sprinkle some extra cactus soil in the middle of the base and stand the succulent in place
- Scatter the gravel over the top of the soil – for the terrarium pictured, I also built the gravel up around the sides to hide the soil.
